DAWE issues update to the Taiwan equivalence arrangement

The Federal Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment (DAWE) have issued a Market Access Advice (2020-06), which provides some additional information on the administration of the new Taiwan equivalence arrangement.

Exporters of organic produce to Taiwan must ensure an application is made by their importer in Taiwan, to the Taiwanese Council of Agriculture Executive, for an approval number that must be used on labeling.

The MAA also clarifies the requirements for imported products or ingredients for re-export to Taiwan, and formally repeals superseded references in the Guidelines for the Issue of Organic Produce Certificates to All Markets (2014).
