The Australian Government in seeking a service provider to deliver the Drought Resilience Self-Assessment Tool (DR SAT).
Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud said the DR SAT would provide accessible information and an online drought resilience assessment capability for primary producers.
“Australia is increasingly vulnerable to drought and the impacts of changing climate conditions,” Minister Littleproud said.
“Whilst Australian farmers are highly skilled at managing climate variability, the increasing magnitude, intensity and frequency of drought and extreme climate events is an unprecedented challenge that requires additional support.
“The DR SAT is one of several programs announced under the $5 billion Future Drought Fund to address this challenge.
“It will bring together best available data, information and analytical methods to deliver new strategic insights for primary producers in order to enhance decision-making capabilities.
“The DR SAT will aim to strengthen the social, economic and environmental resilience of primary producers and communities by delivering information and support that is meaningful and actionable at the farm level.”
