- Organic Peak industry body to work with Austrade to expand organic exports over next eighteen months
- The new initiative will aim to support Australian Organic Limited’s wider goal of doubling the value of Australian organic exports by 2030 by growing international interest in key international markets
Australian Organic Limited (AOL) has been selected to participate in Austrade’s Trade Diversification Network (TDN), as part of the Australian Government’s Accessing New Markets Initiative (ANMI).
As the peak industry body for certified organics, Australian Organic Limited will represent the interests of organic producers and brands nationally. Through the TDN, it will help create export opportunities in priority markets including Southeast Asia (including Japan and India), the Middle East (UAE), the EU and Canada.
Participation in the TDN comes at a pivotal time for the organic sector, as recent market access developments and growing international interest in premium, certified organic products create new opportunities for Australian exporters.
The Trade Diversification Network brings together peak industry bodies from across Australia to collaborate with Austrade on initiatives that help exporters diversify into new and emerging global markets. Participants engage in market intelligence, buyer engagement, trade missions and international trade events to strengthen export capability and build commercial connections.
ANMI is a A$50 million government-backed program and managed by Austrade, that supports Australian exporters through on-the-ground assistance, improved market access and targeted trade activities in priority regions.
Federal Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell said:
“The Trade Diversification Network is a great example of government and industry working together to achieve a common goal: seeing Australian businesses diversify, grow, and build resilience.”
Australian Organic Limited CEO Jackie Brian said the appointment recognises the strength of Australia’s organic certification system and the sector’s global potential.
“Australian Organic Limited has an ambition to double the value of organic exports by 2032 and this initiative with Austrade will be integral to us achieve this goal. Australian certified organic businesses are seeing strong overseas demand for trusted and healthy premium products, grown with care for the environment and backed by robust certification. Through the Trade Diversification Network, we’ll work with Austrade to convert that demand into real export wins by opening doors to buyers, building market pathways, and helping more Australian certified organic producers succeed internationally.”
