Why Choose Certified Organic?
Free to Roam
Livestock must be free to roam to be certified organic. This means no caged chickens and no sow stalls. Animals must be given a quality of life that allows them to perform natural social and physical functions.
Raising organic cattle through breeding using natural methods, stress free weaning that allows for the ethological needs of mothers and young. Live export is also prohibited under organically certified operations.
Peace of Mind
The Australian Certified Organic Standard prohibits the use of synthetic agricultural chemicals including pesticides, fungicides and herbicides.
Synthetic food additives are thought to be linked to symptoms such as allergic reactions, asthma, and ADHD.
Certified organic food and drink must contain a minimum of 95% certified organic ingredients.
Certified Organic products are non-GMO. The crops that are most likely to be genetically modified are corn, soybean, cotton and canola.
Processed foods likely to be genetically modified are corn syrup, corn starch, corn oil, soy lecithin, soy protein, vegetable oil, farmed fish, and animal by-products.
