Ever wondered what it takes to be a certified organic farmer, how certification would benefit your business or what opportunities there are in the organic world for organic farmers?
Head along to the 2015 Seymour Alternative Farming Expo in Victoria from 20 to 22 February. This long running Expo has a great range of information for sustainable farming and this year it features Annabelle Bushell from Australian Organic. Annabelle is our industry development officer and she will talk to visitors about organic certification and what market opportunities exist for certified organic fruit and vegetables.
Annabelle says, “This development role is funded by Horticulture Innovation Australia and Australian Organic to help certified organic fruit and vegetable growers and encourage more growers to enter the industry to meet demand.
“I’m also keen to meet with growers at the Expo to hear about the issues they face in their business – issues that the organic industry might be able to help with.”
The Seymour Alternative Farming Expo focuses on advances in alternative livestock, cropping enterprises, small to medium farm machinery, implements and building systems (home and farm). The Expo has a strong lifestyle focus including food growing and preparation, animals such as cattle, sheep, goats and backyard chooks.
See you there!by
