Natural Beauty Week: Food as makeup

This week is dedicated to generating awareness of certified organic cosmetic, skincare and personal hygiene Oct 17-24.

It also happens to be Natural Beauty Week Oct 20-24, which is proudly brought to you by our friends at the College of Natural Beauty.

Together, we share the same goal to encourage consumers everywhere to become more aware of the health and environmental impacts of synthetic chemicals used in everyday cosmetics and skincare, and to be more discerning about their day-to-day beauty practices.


To bring the natural beauty cause to life, the Natural Beauty Week team asked Brisbane makeup artist Zoe Tranter to give Amanda a makeover using only edible foods found in the kitchen.

Zoe threw herself into the challenge, creating a stunning look for Amanda using a mix of cinnamon, carob powder, rice flour, paprika and cacao for foundation, spirulina for eyeshadow, raw beetroot for blush, charcoal and coconut oil for mascara, a berry mix for lipstick and a coconut oil for gloss.

During natural beauty week there are a number of free events for you to attend as well as special promotions from their lovely supporters.
