In the Spotlight: Allowed Input company, Guano Australia

Products for GuanoOver the past 25 years, Guano Australia has grown from strength to strength to become a national fertiliser company. John Kismet Jashar commenced operations for Guano Australia Pty Ltd in the early 90s, from Shepparton Victoria. Today the company services all forms of the Australian horticulture, dairy and broadacre markets.

The Guano CEO / Director, John Kismet Jashar, was raised on his family’s orchards and has spent most of his life in agriculture and horticulture, as well as food and beverage production. This has provided John with invaluable experience in marketing and distribution, together with first hand experience of the shipping and transport industries. John spent 5 years prior to 1994 travelling throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the USA, researching business opportunities within the Organic Sustainable food and agriculture industries.

John’s research and studies proved that worldwide demand for chemical free, organic products is increasing, underpinning the future of sustainable agriculture.

Upon securing the exclusive long term product supply right for the Australian marketplace, the decision was taken to proceed with the launch of Madura Guano Gold Kwik-Start, which is produced according to our specific required technical standards to suit Guano Australia’s requirements and since then our Organic product range has grown to further products to suit most applications. Guano Australia Pty Ltd is 100% owned by Kismet International Pty Ltd, and as such is truly 100% Australian owned.

Direct support is provided to farmers and growers by way of comprehensive soil and tissue testing, backed up with a full package of agronomy advisory services.

“The key benefits of organic-based fertilisers are that they contain a readily available nutrient supply; they result in better nutrient utilisation; they stimulate soil micro-organisms, they reduce nutrient losses into the environment; they buffer the acidifying effect due to compost; they increase Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) of soils, and they contain naturally chelated trace elements within humus”, says Paul Baguely, PG Ag Consulting.

Guano Australia operates from its Australian Head Office based in Buderim, Queensland, from modern well equipped facilities and is strategically posed to lead the organic fertiliser industry well into the 21st century and beyond.

Mr Jashar, not forgetting the history that Guano Australia was built on, has now teamed up with local institution WB HUNTER GROUP – to service the entire Goulburn Valley region and Southern NSW/Riverina.

The Hunter and Jashar names are synonymous in the Goulburn Valley region, and this new arrangement will bode well to effectively service the target markets.
